Melanie and James got married at Glendale Golf & Country Club on a beautiful September day surrounded by their family and friends. Following the ceremony, the wedding party went to the limo for a ride around St. Albert where we took lots of amazing photos. After dinner everyone danced the night away. Congratulation, Melanie and James!

Their love story:

How we Met:   I was celebrating my 30th "Great Gatsby" Themed Birthday Party the night of January 10, 2015. Mutual friends attended my birthday party and then left to attend our Bestman's birthday party that same night where James was also in attendance. My girlfriend sent me a text at 2 a.m. telling me that she had met a nice boy and asked me if she could give him my number. Of course I said 'yes.' A few days later, James gathered up the courage to text me and ask me out on a date. Our first date was at Original Joe's. We chatted about travel, hobbies, family and then stumbled across the topic of discussing previous jobs.  I told him that I used to work at Moxie's as a server for about 9 years.  He then told me that he used to work there for a very short time too and so did his older sister.  I asked him what his sister's name was and he said Amy. My follow up question was - what is your last name?  Turns out that I worked with his sister at Moxie's a few years ago.  We had an instant connection and the rest is history......

Our Proposal:   James had just gotten a new job with Suncor in Fort McMurray so we decided that we would head to Banff for a few days to celebrate.  On November 9, 2016, we decided that we were going to go on a few hikes.  Our first hike was to Lake Minnewanka and then we decided to go hiking up to Cascade Mountain which begins at the base of the Mount Norquay ski area.  We pulled up to the parking lot and saw that there was no one around and we didn't have any bear spray so we decided that we were going to skip this hike and go up to Tunnel Mountain instead.  We arrived at Tunnel Mountain and went for an hour hike.  On the hike there were two red chairs that overlooked the valley but they were occupied by other hikers.  I told James that it would be so nice to sit in those red chairs and take in the view.  As we neared the parking lot on the way back, those chairs were occupied again.  We instead went to the look out point to see the back of the Fairmount Hotel.  James then asked me if I would like to go sit on those red chairs as they were finally unoccupied.  We sat on the red chairs for about 10 minutes and that's when James started acting weird.  He then asked me to go check out the view point again with him.  Once we got down to the view point, James asked me if I would like my picture taken by myself.  I asked him why I would want a picture taken of just myself?  I then proceeded to tell him that we should get going as it was starting to rain out.  As I was starting to attempt to walk back to the car, I turned around and James was down on one knee asking me to marry him.  The hike up to Tunnel Mountain will forever be our favorite hike.
